If you would like to iPhone X and are opted in for the online-only HBO NOW service, do not delay-?update your copy with the app?to your latest available version for being qualified to enjoy your favorite shows without ugly black bars towards the top and bottom.
Version 2.7 of your official HBO NOW app for iPhone and iPad was updated this morning on App Store with support with the edge-to-edge OLED display about the new iPhone X.
No other changes are mentioned in release notes accompanying the download.
Many of the popular apps and games have obtained support for any native display resolution on iPhone X previously month or so, but you may still find some notable holdouts.
Apps that are fitted with not really took advantage of Apple’s new guidelines fully embrace the notch are rendered with black bars at the summit and bottom. They still function normally, but don’t get the most from many of the pixels (2436 x 1125) that this 5.8-inch Super Retina display offers.
I’m bummed that HBO’s app is not going to stream high dynamic range video the OLED panel on iPhone X supports natively. The app also won\’t currently support 4K streaming.
HBO NOW is for $15 each month. The services are US-only.
HBO Is now a free of charge download from App Store.
