CoolStar releases beta 7 of the Electra jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.1.2

If you were checking up on the most recent jailbreak trends, then you might commonly hear about CoolStar\’s Electra jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.1.2. This does not install Cydia or Mobile Substrate as being a typical jailbreak tool would, and you could still work with this jailbreak to put in third-party extensions on your own device via SSH.

A constant flow of updates since Electra\’s initial release presents the tool with necessary bug fixes. In the week, users can begin to play beta 7, that creates the jailbreak more stable and supplies additional features as they are.

Citing the official Electra website, this changes can be in beta 7:

  • Amfid now gets re-patched if this ever gets killed (stek29 and coolstar)
  • Clean up amfid patch (stek29)
  • Add 3D Touch shortcut for jailbreaking (ca13ra1)

One thing important to note is usually that Electra uses an implementation of jailbreakd, and Saurik offers get off jailbreakd instead of an entirely-new dyld-hooking mechanism as he releases the updated Mobile Substrate alongside Cydia for iOS 11.

It\’s uncertain whether the two is appropriate for Electra when the time comes, so we is only able to propose that avid jailbreakers who\’ve preserved their iOS 11.1.2 devices continue awaiting the official update from Saurik before proceeding by it.

Electra includes an uninstall script for returning your device towards a non-jailbroken state, as well as some Reddit users have purportedly used the most recent version of Electra with no problems. On the flip side, we haven\’t ever done it ourselves, and now we can\’t speak because of its reliability. You use Electra from your own risk.

Personally, I\’ll keep waiting until I see the state update from Saurik. For now, inform us if you’ve used Electra with your iOS 11 device within the comments section below.
